Course Description:
WHMIS 2015 is the latest standard for WHMIS within Canada that has been updated with the Global Harmonization System (GHS).  Our WHMIS program adheres to the requirements of the most current WHMIS requirements.

All Canadian jurisdictions require that employers provide their workers with the necessary information to work safely with hazardous chemicals. This is part of a worker’s right to know. By completing this module, learners will be instructed in the requirements for labels and data sheets, how to read a WHMIS label and MSDS, how a product can affect the workers health and safety, and the appropriate safe work procedures for working with chemicals.  This course has a one year expiry for those wishing to refresh each year.

Course Duration:
Approximately 2 hours

Testing conducted throughout this course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course if the pass mark is not achieved.

  • WHMIS labels, symbols and MSDS
  • The significance of each WHMIS symbol
  • Different modes of identification
  • Safe storage, handling, use, disposal and emergency practices
  • What to do in harmful situations, such as fugitive emissions
