Humans are constantly exposed to radiation from naturally occurring sources. Radiation, simply defined, is energy transferred through space and matter. Many sources of radiation exist in the environment, even inside the human body. This module is specifically designed for workers who work in close proximity to radiation sources, such as metal fabricators, x-ray machines, etc. By the end of this module, participants will be introduced to what radiation is, where it can be found and the importance of protecting themselves from radiation hazards.
