A confined space is a fully or partially enclosed space. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OHSA) confined space standard establishes the uniform requirements to ensure that the hazards of confined spaces in U.S. Workplaces are evaluated, safety procedures implemented, and that the proper hazard information is transmitted to all affected workers. The employer is responsible for ensuring that the requirements of the OHSA standard are complied with in the workplace. This course will review the confined space requirements under the OHSA, hazards of confined space, atmospheric testing, permits, safety procedures, and training and duties of the confined space entry team.
