Course Description:
Back injuries account for approximately one in every five workplace injuries/illnesses. Proper education and awareness can help prevent these injuries. Employees in the Health Care industry face many health hazards, as their jobs require heavy lifting, awkward positions and many other hazards. This module will help prevent these injuries.
In fine detail, this module will discuss the anatomy of the back and spine, contributing factors to back injury, lifting risks and techniques, body management and simple exercises to increase strength and decrease the risks of injury.

Testing conducted throughout this course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course if the pass mark is not achieved.
