Course Description:
Numerous automotive repair facilities routinely use a variety of automotive fluids that may be considered hazardous. Included are: motor oil, solvents, brake fluids, parts washer solutions, paints, antifreeze, and batteries. Three main topics covered in this module are Legislation, Hazards, and Safe Use and Storage Tips. By completing this module, learners will understand the different types of auto fluids, the hazards associated with each, what to do with spills or leaks and safe handling and disposal practices.

Testing conducted throughout this course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course if the pass mark is not achieved.
