Course Description:
This online course provides a well-rounded approach to electrical safety basics and will increase understanding of the dangers of electricity from a shock protection as well as an arc flash protection point of view. With an increase in reported injuries or deaths associated with the use of electricity, electrical safety is becoming a more prominent health and safety topic in industry. Canada's newest electrical standard, the CSA Z462-08, outlines the requirement for safeguarding workers from electrical hazards.
Upon successful completion of the program, learners will be knowledgeable and demonstrate proficiency in working safely on energized or “hot” equipment, types of boundary limitations, approach boundaries, testing circuits, the appropriate electrical PPE, work area safety and types of electrical systems and more.
